em São Paulo?

I am  Canadian and came to  Sao Paulo in 2013 on a contract for a Japanese company.  Since then, I fell in love with the people and culture of Brazil and decided to retire here.  I am now a permanent resident.  My background  and education is in Engineering and Business Management. During my career, I have travelled  all over the world and have managed engineering and business management  teams in several countries.  This  gave me valuable experience working with different peoples and cultures. As part of my many years as a manager, director and supervisor, I also provided Training and Coaching in many areas from technology innovation to personnel development.  This part of my job was always very rewarding and since settling here in Sao Paulo many of my friends suggested that teaching English would be just as enjoyable. They said that teaching suits me.  So, I became certified as an English teacher through  University of Cambridge (CELTA)  in the UK and am now a full time English professor. My friends were right…. teaching English here in Sao Paulo is a lot of fun for me ….
 

And since then I have been providing lessons to many students for Business, intermediate, advanced and conversational English as well as for IELTS preparation.  I have found that each student is unique with different learning styles. But all students want lessons to be interesting – not only to improve their English but also to expand their perspectives.  So, in constructing lessons for each student, I always try to use original material based on my own life experiences and integrate those lessons with traditional English skills learning …. And lots of homework.  Learning a new language is a big challenge and I know this because I am still learning Portuguese.
